My entry into this year’s Lillian Frank Millinery Award has been inspired by The Fashion on The Field Devotee. For many years across the nation on any given weekend, the racing industry has provided opportunity for fashion lovers to walk the catwalk in carefully considered race wear with the hope to be chosen as the best dressed of the day. My head piece named “All eyes on me is a tribute to the fashion on the field devotees. It takes courage to take the stage and the featured masquerade masks, represent the hiding of the nerves that I am sure most competitors have. The masks represent the hiding of the nerves as the competitor takes the stage. I hope you enjoy my piece as much as I enjoyed creating it and presenting it to you. I wish all competitors the best of luck and I hope the Carnival is a success for Sponsors, Punters and of course The Fashionistas. ------------ My passion for millinery is a natural extension of my fashion and theatrical background with the Australian Ballet Company and the love of stitching passed on to me from my loving mother. • Dedicated to the unique • Love invention and infuse my work with fun and drama • Winner of the 2021 Millinery Australia Design Award • Winner of the 2021 Stephen Jones Patrons Pick Award • Featured in several fashion magazines. • Dedicated volunteer of the MAA • Founder and manager of The MAA Student competition.
